Is This Feasible?
« on: October 12, 2007, 02:05:00 PM »

Hi all,

I'm having some issues with my current xbox motherboard, so I'm picking up a new box tonight from a friend to replace it.  Having one good box will make me less afraid of attempting to fix the old one!

Anyway, I'd like to move the current 120GB hd to the new box.  Here is my thought process, please tell me if this will work or not.

1) Build XBOXHDM disc with the old EEProm.  Call it Disc A
2) Use Disc A to unlock the HD.
3) Softmod Box 2 - and create a XBOXHDM disc with its EEPROM - call it Disc 2.
4) Lock the 120GB w/ Disc 2.

Will this work or am I missing something?

My other option is to wait untill I can afford a 500GB drive, and put it in the new box, and then ftp everything over.  But I'd like to get all the stuff out of the malfunctioning box ASAP, but then again I don't want to risk it if its not going to work!

Sweet, so the EEProm is the only thing that is xbox specific right? Meaning that once its locked with Disc #2 it will run in the new box just fine? biggrin.gif
