OK, I loaded the backup and tried to install everything again.  Now when I load the save the screen comes up but theres no options to select from and as soon as I press A I get a green screen of death.

Are you using lTools?  If so, try pressing B at that black screen..  But ltools is waay outdated even though it is technically sufficient to suport any xbox..
