XBox SoftMod Tutorial

Got very Bored, so thought I'd have a go, isn't no way near finished, and I hate my host! I'm gunna change because they just put advertisments all over my site    

Oh, Any comments please post here and I know it could do with some more info!

hi there,

great tutorial! i read it and was happy it was written nicely and was easy to understand!  

i just have a couple of small questions though... why is your "getting usb sticks to work as a memory card" instructions different to tnine's? which one should i follow; is it necessary to copy the datelinfo.xbx file and all that, or is that unecessary? yours doesn't seem to include all those steps.

also, if the gamesave IS corrupt (as it seems that happens a lot, from what i read?), your tutorial suggests it results in an error 21 (from the pic i saw) - if that occurs, is restoring everything back to normal as simple as rebooting, assuming that the ONLY thing that went wrong was the corrupted save? and then the process of formatting the usb drive can be tried again (on different usb drives), until it eventually works?

one more question regards the xbmc instructions... i've looked at a LOT of sites now that have varying tutorials on how to do this, but a properly made one from you would be GREATLY appreciated... some sites i have read refer to just copying all the folders over and replacing the default.xbe, but sometimes i'm not sure when i read other tutes that say other things... also, how do you upgrade to a newer version of xbmc? is it as simple as overwriting the old files?

the ftp part and all that seems simple enough, and since that seems to be straight forward it should be easy, it's just these niggling questions that get me (and maybe a few others) a bit confused  


if you could help me out with some answers to these questions, or even an updated tutorial, it would be greatly appreciated... thanks!

I was using a crap host, the site is down sorry, but i'll put it up within 2 weeks on a decent web host.

If you get an error 21, then reboot ur xbox, It'll work fine
My instructions for the memory card are correct.

Installing XBMC as your main dash is easy, everything (on my site) will be working with 2 weeks.

I will help a bit more throughly when I'm feeling better, sorry, about my anwsers being crappy at the moment lol.

So yeah 2 weeks, new site, new tutorial and a better, more responsive me.
