Modding The Krayzie Softmodder?
« on: December 09, 2006, 01:28:00 PM »

i'm kinda hazy on the exact procedure to this but it's definitely possible. you just can't put the exploit on a memorycard because regular dash files (avalaunch, evox, unleashx etc...) are small enough to fit on a memorycard while XBMC being 50+MB is too big.

or you can just replace your dashboard files with the XBMC files... it's the same thing, you'll end up with XBMC as your main dash.

just add an extra folder in the save containing xbmc, then open the xml file and look for the dashboard copy command and replace it with the path of your xbmc folder

Well you wouldn't be able to transfer XBMC onto a mem card, way too big to fit.

Well, I'm running from a memory stick for all of my softmodding needs, so space isn't a problem.

you need to find the command that copies the dash to e:\dashboard and not c:\rescuedash

1. install the softmod and UnleashX as dashboard
2. once softmoded in UnleashX, FTP to the xbox
3. from FTP goto E:\Dashboard , then upload contents of XBMC folder from PC to E:\Dashboard
4. Reboot, now XBMC is default dash.

CODE

and change that for the line you mentioned earlier.

then when you pick unleashx it will actually install xbmc. optionally you could chagne the name from unleashx to xbmc in the config.xml

So it would be:

CODE

Right?

no:
CODE
]
is enough (taken the xbmc is named default.xbe)
