Ok, here's the problem that we're having. I've modded about 30 Xboxes with no problems. My friend's hard drive was dieing in his Xbox, so we managed to get it softmodded with the Mech Assault exploit and the Ndure softmod. We backed up everthing, installed a 40GB hard drive, installed the Ndure exploit with Unleash X, restored his original C and E drive. Everything ran perfect. He wanted to flash a different eeprom to the Xbox so he can still try to get on Xbox Live. I think the EEPROM flash didn't take because we rebooted to find an error screen with no error code. I installed a SmartXX ver. 2 modchip so we could get access to the hard drive again. We used Remote Flash from SmartXX to reflash the EEPROM to the original eeprom. We created the new 40GB drive with xboxhdm and everything worked fine until we flashed it with the new eeprom, then nothing would load. After the chip install and reflashing the eeprom with Remote Flash, we flashed the chip with the X2 bios. When we load the X2 bios we can load backed up games and discs that we've burned like Config Magic, but if we try to load the Unleash X or Microsoft dashboard, all we get is a black screen with a constant orange light. I know the original eeprom is loaded or it wouldn't let us load these discs. The other problem is that I'm trying to unlock the 40GB drive with the disc that I made with xboxhdm and it won't unlock it, even though I've tried the original eeprom and the one that we tried to lock it with. Is there any reason why it would load everything fine from disc but refuse to boot a dash from the hard drive and just give a black screen with an orange LED? Please help, I've tried everything and I've been doing this for years. I have everything backed up so any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
