Why Splinter Cell, 007, Ma ?
« on: July 08, 2006, 10:50:00 PM »

They are exploitable. Meaning they can launch external xbe files.

When you load a profile such as "Linux" it launchs an xbe file which would be the installer.

Since these games have a hidden feature such as this (which i'm sure MS was not proud of or the game manufactor), that's why these games are the only ones that work.

It's because these games are vulnerable to the buffer overflow exploits which are required to patch the public key to allow the execution of a habibi signed XBE which is generally PBL or NKPatcher to allow complete execution of unsigned code.

Other games are exploitable, but 3 is enough.  It is widley believed that no other games were publicly exploited so that if MS managed to prevent the 007/MA/SC tricks from working, there would be something to fall back to.

So now I'm curious.  If SC, MA, and 007 aren't the only ones you can do a savegame exploit with then how many other games can you do that with.  Don't have to name it, just a number would be fine.

Oh, and I guess Frogger Beyond is on that list according to Hyperiority <- (which by the way... thanks for sharing  happy.gif )

The number of exploitable games is unknown, but I suspect there are quite a few.
