What The Difference?
« on: June 17, 2006, 12:49:00 PM »

Okay so i was searching online for more downloads when i can across something called "Pheniox BOIS Loader".

Now i see that it needs a bois bin file to load but whats the difference? is there an advantage or disadvanges to this?

I run an 1.6 Xbox with 20 gig drive if you need to know.

The Phoenix BIOS Loader is just what it sounds like...a BIOS loader. When you run PBL, it takes the BIOS you give it and it jams it all into memory and executes it. While there are way better alternatives (NKpatcher only patches bits of the running BIOS, instead of completely replacing it, making it faster, more efficient, and it has alot more features), PBL still can do the trick.

If your Ndure setup is working fine, you probably don't need to fiddle with this (especially if you used an installer like Krayzies). However, if you're building the softmod by hand, you "can" use PBL, but if I were you I'd look up NKpatcher which you can find in the XBE Exploits section.

Well i'm currently using Softmod Installer Deluxe 3.1 with Nkpatcher Dual-Boot.

It does work fine but if PBL is faster and more efficient then what version is the best? cause i could play around with it... if anything happens i always got a backup on my computer and xboxhdm with my eeprom on a cd.

luckly my computer boots a locked hard drive with no problems.
