Adding A New Hdd
« on: May 07, 2006, 02:27:00 AM »

I have modded my xbox using Krazies Ndure 1.1. I have done the minimum install. If I recall there used to be an option for nkpatcher on the old Ndure mod but the option is not there on the 1.1 version (during install). Do I have to do anything extra to the softmod on my xbox before upgrading the HDD >

I am now looking to put in a larger HD and found the site below through google. Is installing a new HDD really as simple as that ? I have backed up my eeprom.bin and the necessary folders.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks.

Let us know if the 10minute thing really is that simple in practice.

Just been thinking the tutorial may not work. When you copy the contents of C across you will be getting the contents of the virtual C.

yes, its that easy.  Ive done 4 hard drives with xboxhdm.  You will need to reinstall the softmod with the new hard drive.  Also, you should use xboxhdm to unlock the original disc, you will nee to disable primary master in your PC bios to get by the lock.  Linux will still recognize it.

Thanks for your help.

Do I need to unlock the original HDD ? I have no intention of using it and was just going to keep it as a spare drive in case I ever need it again for the xbox.

I take it the eeprom.bin is the one in the directory e:\backups\eeprom\backup\

no, you dont have to do anything with the original hard drive.  I unlock them personally in case I need them for another xbox or a pc.  As for the eeprom, yes.
