Hard Drive Replacement

my frend jus gave me his used 50 GB Xbox HD. I already have a modded xbox and i want to replace it with a bigger xbox Hard drive so i can save more games. Am i able to do that without Ftp'ing?

i take it your xbox is softmodded and it requires harddrive to be locked. so you will need get eeprom of your hdd then make sure your mates hdd is unlocked then relock it with your eeprom
