Just goes to black screen. Also the "MechWarrior" game appears even after I delete it time and time again.

I was going to try something else but I cant get into xbins. Says: "#xbins unable to join channel (invite only)"

Yeah, I bought one off ebay lastnight. If it dont work after this, im not gonna try anymore, as much money as I spent trying to mod an xbox for over 2 years, I could have went out and bought one already modded.

Before I go homicidal, Im gonna ask someone for help. I just spent the last bit of cash im gonna have for a while.

now, I went and bought a stupid fucking memory card that looks like an imitation of the MS brand.


It isnt getting detected by the Action Replay, it pops up in the taskbar like an external HD would (removable storage), it doesnt show up in My Computer unless you make a partition on the stupid little thing and if you do that once you put it in the xbox it gives the "MEMORY 1A: The Memory Unit you inserted isnt working correctly. it has been erased".

Am I doing something wrong or did I buy a piece of shit??

I used it first on the computer, Its detected through the Action Replay docking station (as a external memory device), not through the software (which I read, AR software wont read any other memory cards.)

How do I get the files on the memory card??

This is what shows up on the taskbar when I have the memory card hooked into the action replay port.

OK take mem card and plug it into your XBOX, With no game in xbox. goto memory, is the mem card listed with the xbox hdd. It should be. At 8mb I think your looking at 500 or so blocks of mem. That is what it should read.
Before you go any further I would do this. Make sure it is something your xbox can read. I think the action replay will just say it sees something attached to its cable.

498 blocks to be exact, the xbox reads it, but I cant find the place on the PC to put the saves on the memorycard. How do you put the saves on the memory card if you cant do it through the AR software is what Im saying?

I just attempted a softmod again with "Softmod Installer Deluxe v2.0" and got a 21 error, luckly it wasnt permanent, but I wont be trying it again with "SID", but any help with the krayzie installer, and xbox memory unit would be appreciated.

I did with the AR Card, and it got a black screen when I loaded it, Krayzie said to get a MS brand card. Apparently the AR Card corrupted the save, like so many people said it would.

I got the "Xbox Memory Unit" which looks like and "Official Memory Card" knockoff.

As for device manager, I'll check..

Hey.
you can still use you Imitation Memory with AR.
just need to get a tool named usbview from usbman.com

-unplug all the usb devices from your pc (except for the mouse an keyboard if is the case).
-run usbview and look for a mass storage device.
-look for the product Id and the vendor Id and write down the 4 digits after the 0x.
-now go to your AR install dir ("C:\Program Files\Datel\Action Replay XBOX" is the default dir) and open xbreader.inf with notepad.
-change the the Product Id and Vendor Id on the first line (see the image) save the document and close it.

-go to control panel\administrative tools\computer management.
-click on device manager at the left and look for the same mass storage device at the Universal Serial Bus Controllers.
-right click and choose update driver
-choose "update from a list or specific location(advanced)" and click next.
-then choose "dont search, i will choose the driver to install" and click next.
-click on the "Have Disk" button.
-Click on browse ond go for the xbrerader.inf that you just modified.
-Click "Open" then "OK".
-Then choose "MaxDrive Xbox" from the list and click next.

now you're done, open AR an it should recognize the momory unit
