Yea, you want to get the newest Slayers disc. You get the slayers zip file off of xbins(see tut in my sig). Then you run the program on ur computer and it extracts an .iso file. Then you burn that image to a cd-r and put it in ur xbox and u can install whatever, like the ms dashboard.

Error 16 relates to his dashboard files - Somethin has been mangled.
I did the same by usin an old exploit on a newer dash.
As far as I know, 'hot-swapping' is the only remedy.
I'm currently in this situation but I'm givin it a go in a few mins.
There are plenty of guides on here if u search & read tho.

Here is what I suggest you do.  Seeing as you have Slayers disc and you can find the stock c: drive files on that disc under system/all/c (or is it all/system/c??), read up on Kingroachs NDURE installer for PC.  This will build all the right files to ftp into your xbox.   It will give you the latest and greatest softmod and also give you access to the M$ dash.  The tutorial is in the pinned section of the XBE forum.

Are you using a router or a network card to connect to your xbox?

I go from the computer to the xbox I have a router if i need to use it as a way to connect wich should I  use. in the box wich dash should I use if it matters.

Dosn't matter what dash you use.  Make sure that in the dashboard you are using that you have the network setting set to DHCP.  If the xbox is connected to your PC, then the IP address should show up on your dashboard somewhere.  Use that IP address in your PC's FTP program to log on, using the password: xbox and logon: xbox.  I also believe that you need to use a straight thru cable when using a router and not a crossover cable (I could be wrong, hopefully someone else can chime in here).  You really should get your FTP going befor e you worry about the M$ dash.

Try The hotswap first or as a last resort???? up to u i would suggest the following to save ur XBOX

MOD Chip is about the only thing that will fix it if you have no way of booting into it
