well looks like its your friends fault he must have tryed to uninstall the mod the hard way and screwed up

see if it can still run games and try and remod it then make shure he still has a back up folder with a good ms dash in at and if he still does shut the xbox off boot with the disk tray out and use the restore MS dash feature

just hotswap to xboxhdm and restore to stock.... and keep your beer....I'm perfectly capably of buying my own

it locks back by itself. a hotswap will just temporarily unlock it
