Well I just got an unlocked xbox hardrive a couple of days ago but it turned out that after I got the hardrive I learned that you need to get the eeprom off of the original hardrive bought with the xbox. Problem is I have live and dont want to get rid of it but wanted a softmodded xbox, so I got that unlocked hardrive. Is there a way to use mechassault and load up one of those softmod installers and ftp to my computer via craxtion and get my eeprom off of my hardrive without putting any files that could get me banned on my live hardrive so I can softmod the other hardrive?

First of all, let me ask this question?  Why don't you just softmod the hard drive in there right now?  It's the only good way to softmod your Xbox and stay on LIVE.

That hard drive you got is pointless.  If you did successfully install that in your xbox, and softmod it, you would get banned because of the marriage theory, which is the EEPROM on your xbox motherboard (your Xbox serial number and unique identity) is matched to your hard drive.  If the marriage is broken (IE: Hard drive is changed) then you get banned.  Which takes me back to my first question:  Why don't you just softmod the hard drive in there right now?
