Hoping you can help me out on this one ...

xbox soft modded today - all ok, backups played fine and all was well.

Decided to put the evox dash on it so I could load it up with xbmc etc. Ok, so booted from a DVD to get the evox dash up and backed up all the files from the c: drive - so far so good.

Copied back a job lot of files taken of another (known working evox) xbox's c: drive but here I think I made the mistake. Instead of deleting all original files from the c: drive and starting a fresh, I chose to overwrite the original files. This meant that after the ftp txfr of all the files necessary, there were also surplus files on the c: drive (ie. some of the original files).

Now, normally I would have taken these out so that what was in c: of the recently flashed xbox was EXACTLY the same as was in c: of the known working evox xbox. This I forgot to do.

Result :

Constant looping when trying to boot ANY disc in the xbox. Will not even boot the evox dash from either the HDD or the DVD drive. So now I cannot ftp to the Xbox to fix the problem.

Any ideas guys? The finished thing was MEANT to be a Birthday prezzy for the Missus's bro. Could really do with getting this sorted with as little pain as possible!

coldboot your exploitable retail game and load the save. if that dosn't work then hotswap

Am I right in thinking that a soft modded xbox (using the exploits) will not allow the evoxdash to be installed and run without disk?
