Having Issues With 2 Different Softmod Exploits
« Reply #15 on: December 19, 2005, 12:35:00 PM »

Funny how some members overthere act a little (some a lot) arrogant and all-knowing towards X-S members/site. Maybe they don't realize that X-S WAS/IS the place with the greatest (and probably only) softmod evolvements since the mechinstaller fonts thanks to high ranked members like rmenhal, pedrospad devz3ro, angerwound and ldots. They all did this without any profit whatsoever. The stuff that was introduced here is now used all over the world and in almost any softmod packages available (including yours). Some credit and respect would indeed be in place. And there are few people I have faith in creating installers like Kingroach who I know watches the scene carefully and has some actual thought on what stuff means.
Looking at installers like DJB's or yours or many others not even worthy mentioning just makes me think those are just people who know the basics but miss a great deal of knowledge that you missed out on just becuz you were never really part of this place.
Asking money on a third party site for stuff that was brought to the scene for free just makes me wanna cry.

@ Ndure protagonist: Was this the package you mentioned earlier that was so great?

I wonder what version of configmagic you used cuz if you read on the evolvements on the virtual eeprom you would know configmagic makes direct kernel calls and the virtual eeprom is not safe in those situations and creating the atmosphere where it would be safe to unock your hd isn't something I would call smart.

Further more I do no take credit for any of the exploit tools I use and always give credit to the makers/developers. I understand making an installer it's not that hard and are just some simple script commands. That's why it amazes me that much you praise your own stuff like it's the absolute perfect and safest thing around (ironical isn't it). I understand your greeve though. It must not be fun of your work critisized by others. I do feel myself free to have an opinion though and don't feel obligated to keep it to myself just to prevent someones feelings to get hurt.

1.- I didn't create it to be safe to unlock, if you READ RIGHT, you'll see that's it's meant so you don't unlock by accident, in no way it says, it's safe to unlock your hdd, and we all know a softmod doesn't run on unlock hdds. rolleyes.gif

2.- My work is not critized yet, just like yours, it's not something that can't break easily. Sure you have an opinions as all do, but keep it an opinion, not a judgement. Your not obligated to anything, and if you read my previous post, i'm not hurt at all. It's your attitude that irritates me.

Well I'm sorry if you are offended by words like crap or shit. It is just a way to express my feelings towards it. It would be the same thing if I said well I dislike SID for it's outdated contents and unreliable way of installing things that causes a lot of errors and live loops but that would be too much to write for me everytime (yes I do get tired of repeating myself over and over again).
And no I do not (ever) promote my  installers with things like wow it's Krayzie it's the best and safest thing ever happened to the history of xbox. I let the people decide. If I hadn't have that much responses I wouldn't continued making them after my UXE 1.0 release.
And yeah Ldots was/is greatly respected here but now his ltools is also heavily outdated. And I do respect people for their efforts (if their worthy) but that also doesn't stop my freedom of speech when spreading my opinion from things I don't like.
But I will take a look at it when I find the time....

I like that, it's all coming to a better way, i still don't like your attitude, *read's last post*, you alwasy attack on comments, why?

as for SID 4 being different than all SID's, it's cause you choose, and install, it's not like old SIDs that were causing errors, and xbox live loops, I do agree on that, and it's why I offered DJB to make it for him.

I must admit it, and i'll say it out loud.

MOST OF THE STUFF I KNOW, IT'S NOT CAUSE OF H KIU, IT'S CAUSE OF HERE!

People don't have to like my attitude if they don't want to. If I only existed to please everybody then my life would really suck  biggrin.gif . Anyway I'm not attacking comments I'm just defending my points of view.

Err, just to re-rail this thread.

I got an MS mem card, used Krayzie's package on Splinter Cell, worked like a charm. Thanks for the help!

I didn't; here's what I've previously posted about it...

(i)
Actually, from what I've read, Nknave's is maybe better (but it's still mostly a subset of kingroach's Ndure 3.0 installer)...

(ii)
if you do consider changing to a one with the newer features, Nknave's gamesave installer expands on krayzie's and kingroach's feature rich 3.0 could do it via the x2onlinedash.xbe boot...

(iii)
krayzie's Ndure is the best gamesave installer here at X-S.  Elsewhere, Nknave's(English) and jp33's(French) Ndure installers are more recent, enhanced versions of Krayzie's (from what I've read).

(iv)
kingroach's 3.0 beta is the most recent but it sounds like Nknave's Ndure is what you're referring to (from what I've read, it's an enhanced version of krayzie's that also integrates with the newest autoinstaller)...

(v)
Back to the original poster's topic; for the currently still unbelievable X-S [Search] to be most useful, for Nknave Ndure, use its 'Web' option.

heh yeah apologies too. I got a little caried away. Well I'll check out the package when time allows it and see what all this fuz is about.
I wasn't even aware of others all busy with the Ndure installers and such but it's good to see some progress (especially since I haven't updated in a while mellow.gif)
Keep in mind though that my 1.1 is in the works and will also contain some nice improvents imo.

When I conceived Ndure (as 'eh.') I shared it with the community and they grew it ... especially wrayal, kingroach, krayzie, jp33 and yourself.
{+ xman954, Angerwound, Cio and others have made evolutionary and fundamental contributions! +}

Most significantly, it's been "by the X-S community, for the community" ... but please remember what its acronym means (as it's largely the result of rmenhal's work!) and hopefully every Ndure readme will spell that out, like the first line of my sig does...
