i put evox on my xbox using splinter cell, i backed up my files and everything and then i switched over to unleashx w/o backing them up then i did the patch ms #### so i could get my ms dashboard back so then i went to restore ms dash and now my xbox will turn on but it will come up to, updating xbox live and wont let me go anywhere from there. i tryed hooking it up to the internet see if it would update it but it didnt do anything. is there a special website u need to go to update xbox live on ur xbox? please help thanks

you used a crappy softmod package and you shall now face the consequence. Load your gamesave exploit and revert to stock and use a more stable softmod next time instead of sid.

there is a search button you know....
coldbooting means you have to put the game in the drive and reset the xbox (turn off and on) I hope you didn't unplug it for too long otherwise it won't work anymore

use something like SmartFTP, then find out yoru xbox ip, make your TCP/IP a similar one to the xbox, and start up smart FTP. to gain acces you need a cross cable, remove your internet and connect the cross cable, you need to have the server (your xbox) put your IP of the xbox in the server space, for user:xbox, for password:xbox, port 21 (supposedly). then just press enter. if you did everything right then you should get a couple partitions appearing, those are the xbox HDD partitions. Thats most of what you need to know. I'm also a newb, so if this doesn't help try using other people tutorials. Sorry i may have skipped some...alot of parts.

thanks dude, so when i get the partitons up. while files do i need to replace to get my xbox to normal MS dash so i can use a diff softmod instller then .sid

sorry cant help you there, not really much of an xbox expert...but as of what i heard, slayers disc can do this, i want to revert my xbox back to stock as well, i doubt this disc needs ftp though

whay about yboxdash.xbe, zboxdash.xbe? there are a couple other files as well what do i do with them...just delete them?
