How do you make a mechassault hacked gamesave, so that when you "run linux" it boots up to say a program such as mimesis? I'm asking because a friend of mine has an unmodded xbox and wants mimesis maps on it. (Putting a ndure for example just so that i can FTP the maps over and then remove gamesave...only leads to halo 2 saying maps corrupted) I figure a gamesave that would load mimesis would be cool. Could someone tell me of a tutorial i could use (trust me i searched xs and the 2 gamesave oriented forms) to make this possible for those not willing to mod their xbox? Also i heard of Dukes installer AKA mimesis lite but couldn't find that on the usual places so i wanted to make one... (would test on my box first lol )

Well it seems Porject mimesis is already owrking on one.. my bad lol
I would still though like to know hoe to make exploits that can run programs on unmodified xbox's. Example -> mimesis

oh shit im really sorry i didnt mean it in the hacking halo 2 sense..... if a moderator could delete the halo 2 part that'd be awesome... other then that how do you make gamesave exploits?

I'm reallly sorry i didn't mean it in hacking halo2. I don't like the fact people who took crap on LIVE screwed it up for all of us who dont use shit on live.....again sorry

Chorizo1, I am completely against cheaters, I even take pride knowing that I got one of them banned by recording the game and sending the link to Bungie.

I don't think this question is against the rules though. Consider that Mimesis is an application that makes the news here and is used for offline or system link mods similar to Halo NMP and Halo CXE. It's a Halo 2 Map Downloader and Rainbow Six Lockdown Map Downloader with a GUI similar to Xbox LIVE's downloadable content.

I have Mimesis 2 and love it! But I would never play it on LIVE. I'm pretty sure this is a legitimate question, as he isn't asking anything about hacking Halo 2. He is only asking how he can make a gamesave that would auto-load a homebrew application. This homebrew application downloads Halo 2 modded maps, but he isn't the one hacking them, and they can't be used on LIVE anyways because they can only be played against somebody with the same map.

Say, if I downloaded Cassiopeia off of Mimesis, which is a mod of Lockout. I can't take that on LIVE and play against people playing on Lockout. They would have to have Cassiopeia as well.

I agree with the whole modding and cheating being 2 different things, but as you have stated this prog is used to Download Modded Maps, which as stated in the Halo2 hacking rules is not allowed, although i am probably wrong, since no mod has closed the post.

maps that can be downloaded from mimesis aren't for cheating, it's just like making a map for CSS, so don't get stuff confused, and plz do more research b4 you post about something you don't comprehend.

Well i finished making the gamesave...

THANKYOU Ronin149 for all your advice on the exploit part. You got me going in the right direction and after a little more testing to make sure it works I'll e-mail angrycamel over at Projectmimesis see if it's aloud to be published ect... for others...

Again i apologize for bringing halo 2 up. Obviously made people think i wanted to hack halo 2 or something. Really all i wanted to do was bring a way for people to use mimesis on unmodded xbox's (sad i know - having a un-modded box lol) so that they can get Rainbow 6, KOTOR, and Halo 2 modded content that is in NO way usable for Xbox LIVE purposes (Halo 2 at least) to enjoy. Thanks for the help, and i will post when i know for sure i got it working....

As a side note to Ronin149 - To change the name of the gamesave from "run Linux" to something else you can use a hex editor on the SaveMeta.xbx (I used Hex Workshop) or realize there's a much easier aproach, which would be to rename it using action replay to what you want lol (didn't figure that one out for awhile...

)

If this program is used to re-distribute copyrighted content that has been modified then its illegal to do that. It is certainly against site rules to promote the re-distribution of copyright content (modded or not).
