Hotswap Failed
« on: October 03, 2005, 03:03:00 PM »

I have recently softmodded an xbox. After a while I turned it off and went to bed. Next day I turn it on and greated with an error 13 message and when trying to play a game, an Error 22. So I decided to swap with XboxHDM and installed a fresh copy of the MS Dash. However, now I get a new error, error 16 which involves the Xbox clock. I heard hotswapping fixed it but now it won't do anything. Should I try hotswapping again or is this just screwed? BTW its an old Xbox v1.0 incase needed.

error 16 COULD be a clockloop. it could also be other files having to do with the dashboard which made it not be able to load. hotswapping will fix this.

I got from somewhere else that this may be a clock loop and that the only way is to have another modded xbox to fix this. I wanted to know if it was possible to still save this with the PC by hotswaping without having another modded xbox.

EDIT: Also, should I put Avalaunch as the Dash instead of the normal MS one?

you can hotswap with a pc to save your xbox. put STOCK C files on your xboxhdm cd. after you rebuild the C drive, resoftmod your xbox.

no it's not at xbins. you're going to have to download a slayers disc and extract the files from there. i think its in system/all/C or something like that.

Alright thanks, you sure that error 16 might be a problem unsolvable? I just want to make sure all the errors 16 can be.

Ok,when I use the Locking tool, when I unlock it, this shows up:

Security Supported: Yes
Security Enabled: No
Sec. locked: No
Sec. Frozen: No
Sec. count expired: No

Now when locked:

Security Supported: Yes
Security Enabled: Yes
Sec. locked: No
Sec. Frozen: No
Sec. count expired: No

Does this mean it is locked? cause Sec. Locked isn't enabled.

Alright:

1. Turn on PC
2. Open BIOS and boot CD first
3. Insert XboxHDM
4. Restart and freeze to the Blue Screen when first started
5. Connect HD of the xbox to the PC by the same cable used to connect the PC Main HD
6. Continue Booting
7. Use option 3 and unlock HD with the EEPROM Backup I have
8. Restart
9. Back at the XboxHDM screen choose Option one
10. Now when I am presented with 8 options of what to do with the HD
11. I choose first the option to erase it and erased it like 3 times
12. Back at the main screen, I choose option 1 which starts from scratch.
13. Restart PC
14. Now back to XboxHDM I use option 3 and lock HD with my EERPOM back.
15. Turn off Xbox than PC.
16. Reconnect them both back to normal
17. Get the Error 16 again sad.gif
