what do i use to soft mod a v1.6 xbox?  like what files what game and what hardware?

the part missing is actually installing the mod once its on the xbox with the game (its almost all just straight-through). My tutorial helps you transfer the game, and upgrade the HD, also says were to get the save and xboxhdm

i gone as far as ftping into the xbox but after that i install some files and then i get error 21 so i whant to know which exploits work for my xbox v1.6 and which dont?

I use the A.I.D 2.0(advanced auto installer 2.0) all the time on all version xboxes.
It also has all the 007 etc.. softmods to let you get evox running so you can
put the installer disc in. This has everything emulators, apps , modded dash,
bios for chips, and very professional instructions.
I,ve never had any problems and i've done at least fifteen 1.6 consoles.

I sometimes use a site called "boxtorrents" for a lot of diffrent downloads.

It's called Auto Installer Deluxe.

If you're going to use this program, then you definitely will need to upgrade to AID 2.1 Final. The 2.0 release was very buggy and causes softmodders major problems if you don't know what you're doing. It was created by a member of a competing site (not really much competition though) so you're not going to get much"tech support" from here if you get stuck.

Your best bet would be to use Krayzie's UXE (or Ndure installer) to do the softmod, then use Slayer's to take care of everything else.

i have a v1.6 with a chip and i whant to reinstall retail hhd files
but i dont have them  can i just use my friends "C" files?
the reason i am asking that is because i am trying to test the softmode in my xbox but every time i try to install Softmod.Installer.Deluxe.v2.0 i get errors and i think its becuse i have evox and xbmc in drive c.

p.s. i am trying to install the softmod into my friends xbox
is there any permenent damege that i can do while installing
a softmod?

I got a v 1.6 box and i used the the mechassault wafflezone tools installer, and it works perfect.
