ok i baught this xbox off a friend for 20 bux. he said he failed on a softmod attempt. it gives me error 21 but it can still read games.
now for my options... i have a modded xbox with an x3 chip. is there any way to hotswap using that?
also can i load the exploit off a memory card?
i dont want to hotswap using a pc as i know i will mess up.

still boots games, try letting a LIVE enabled game upgrade your dash.

Use your chip in that box to get the eeprom.

i was reading ur hotswapping faq's cuz some1 reffered me to that. i was about to try to hotswap but im gunna try to do wat u sai dbaout the live enabled game update my dash...if that doesnt work then im forced to hotswap i guess.

well updating the dash didnt work. everytime i tried to go on live it said cannot connect and to start trouble shooter. when i did that my xbox froze. i looked at ur hotswapping faqs and i didnt see anything about using another modded xbox. can u explain to me how i would go about doing this. if i can find it out ill just hotswap using my pc.

Burn Evox to a cd, and use the modded xbox to boot it, then proceed to hotswap to it.

although Xboxhdm is much easier to hotswap into.

no look dude get slayers and resotore your xbox to retail then ereinstall your softmod. I did it and it work.and with my hardmod I got it back cuase of the modchip

how is my xbox going to read slayers if its not modded? and if ur saying install my x3 in my broken 1 to gain ftp access i would do that but i dont have any more pinheaders

If the guy that sold you the box screwed up a softmod, maybe he left a 007/MA/SC gamesave on the drive... try asking and see if you can get in through the gamesave.

believe me i tried.... he said he used mechassault so i popped in mech. and run linux wasnt there... idk wut to do

If you can boot an orginal, try booting a LIVE enabled game, and updating your dash.

If you have no other options, then read my hotswapping faqs.

yea i tried loading mechassault, old sports games and unreal championship. everytime it said it ouldnt find a connection and it said to run troubleshooter. when i went to that my xbox froze.... i guess hotswapping is my only choice... is there anyway to load the exploit off my memory card? not to actually install the softmod, just get ftp acess

hey i was thinking. would i be able to take an unlocked stock hdd, put it into my modded xbox, make all he contents as if it were a stock hdd, and put that in my broken xbox?

haha well i took a stock hdd, put it into my chipped xbox, made it retail using slayers. popped it in. it gave me an error 05. so that means hdd isnt locked. i lock it using slayers. now when i put it in it says error code 06. witch means cannot unlock hd. im stumped

you must lock that drive with the EEPROM of the xbox it is going into, the drive you locked with slayers will only work in your xbox now, you need to unlock it, and lock it with the correct eeprom.
