ok so i followed the guide to install a larger hard drive and it was going good but then on the computer it said it couldnt find udata so i made another disc and redid the install and it worked fine. then i go n put it in my xbox n it gives me the service requird screen
sum1 plzz help i have the eeprom but wat should i do from there, i dont have another xbox 2 extract the right files from slayers install

I'm afraid your post doesn't make much sense ....

* What tutorial/program?
* PC can't find Udata?
* What error number do you get (if any)
* What mod are you using?

It looks like you didn't include the dashboard files while upgrading.

ok i was using xboxhdm and i had krayzies installed on the xbox
i go to xboxhdm n follow the tut on here and wen xboxhdm went 2 copy the c-drive it couldnt find UDATA
and the error is the take to service and i believe it has a 5 in the left corner
ne help would b appreciated

edit now there is a 6 in the left corner
ive got a best buy replacement plan so ill prolly take it back because they never check 2 see if it was opened

You didn't lock the drive. That's all. Check the errorcodes link in my sig.

Just follow the same tutorial.

I wrote a small tut on upgrading hdd's + krayzie. Link in my sig. It might be helpful.

(though all you need to do is lock the drive)

thats another problem wen i try to lock the drive under my pc it keeps sending a message to the drive to lock but it wont

Simply read all questions and replies in the xboxhdm thread. Also use (IMG:http://forums.xbox-scene.com/style_images/oldx/search.gif)

This 'problem' is discussed daily.

There are dozens of possible causes and solutions.

Those include :
* Turn of auto detection of hdd in PC bios
* Dell, Compaq and Intell chipset based PC's don't like the locking stuff
* Your HDD can't be locked at all. check : http://xboxdrives.x-pec.com/
etc etc etc etc

No problem, just take some time reading up ...

Didn't intend to 'convict' you, or piss you off, but all possible sollutions are in the xboxhdm thread, some pointers may be in that small tut.

If you're really stuck, give a detailled description of what you tried so far.

Unless the hdd isn't lockable, you will fairly easily get it to work.
