Clock Loop
« on: July 15, 2005, 05:56:00 PM »

Hi,

I have softmodded my xbox with the mechassault exploit and running the evox dash and I have been reading alot about the clock loop problem. I was just wondering if there was a fix or some way to prevent it from happening? I am many concerned about a black out ect.
Any help or info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Ok I have read through some other posts about this (I know I should have done that first before posting ) but I am wondering how I would know if I have used the UXE ect. exploit? so I wont have the clock loop problem.
Thanks

Thats an old problem. If you are using UXE the clock loop error is nonexistant.

How long ago did you have the softmod done.  If it was more than 1yr ago, chances are it is not UXE.  I would update if I were you, just to be on the safe side.

Ya, I suggest using krazies autoinstaller, it's pretty easy, I used to use it and had no problems with it, and definitly no clock loop error.

allright, you are currently softmodded, right? if so extract the udata.zip file that comes with krayzies. You should now have a numbered folder. Put your Memory Unit into your controller, and FTP to your xbox. Put the numbered folder(s) onto drive H:, I:, J:, or K: (whatever you see). Then uninstall your old softmod (read the readme that came with your old exploit), if it doesn't have an uninstall option, put stock C: files onto the C: drive  (either your Backup or Slayers). Then you can reboot your xbox. Delete your old MA savegame of your HD (with the stock savegamemanager), and copy the one from your Memory unit. Launch MA and follow the instructions on the screen.

thanks for the reply, I am still kinda new at this so I am asking alot of questions just to be on the safe side. I have the SlaYers_EvoX_Auto-Installer_v2.6FINAL. Would I be able to use this to uninstall the old softmod? Because the old one I have on there doesnt have an uninstall option. If I can use this after I had uninstalled the old one would I just have to use the mechassault exploit again with Krayzie_MA_UXE_Installer_Dutch-English_v2.8 .
Thanks alot for helping me out

Allright, so your siftmod doesn't have an uninstall option.......... So, extract the slayers package. You should now have an ISO file. Extract that one with craxtion or qwix. Now search for the retail C: files (I have no clue where they are located exactly, sorry. You gotta search for it). I you have those files, FTP to your xbox.

first delete your old MA savegame from your xbox (somewhere in E:\UDATA). Then simply FTP krayzie's savegame installer over to the udata folder (unzip the udata.zip and ftp over the numbered folder(s)). You can do this, because the old savegame is not needed to uninstall the softmod. When I told you to copy kryzies to the memorycard is was implying you would need your old savegame to uninstall the old softmod. But you don't, so you can actualy put krayzie's on BEFORE you uninstall the old one.

Now, the following part has to be done WITHOUT turning off your xbox inbetween:

1. Delete everything of the C: partition of your xbox.

2. FTP the retail setup from slayers over to your C: drive. Your C: drive should now look like this:

if not, DON'T turn your xbox off. If yes, you can turn off your xbox, turn it back on, and load MA.

Is there another way to do this besides ftp, as I have read the guides on this and im not too sure how to do it or have the things to do it. Would I be able to somehow uninstall it another way and install krayzies with an AR or something?
Thanks for all your help

Thanks Horscht,

Do you have a link to a tutatorial that you would recommend to someone starting out on ftping?
