Removing Ltools
« on: July 12, 2005, 12:06:00 AM »

How exactly would I go about doing this? Some thing step by step would be nice, as I have no clue as where to start.
I do know that in Ltools I can either remove the UDE exploit, or restore C: back up, I have no clue which I should do.
Then if one of those options work, would this bring me in completely stock state?
The reason I ask is because I'm pretty sure Krayzie's installer need the Xbox to be in stock state to be installed. I don't know if this is on the C: the E: or what, it's all so confusing!
I've had my Xbox softmodded with ltools for 2 years now and it's just becoming a pain in the ass with it horrid dualboot and messed up IGR (It resets to what's in the DVD drive.)
So now I just want to switch to Krayzie's because I can shut off the dualbooting and the IGR works perfectly (resets back to dash as an IGR is supposed to!)

The C needs to be stock. on E there should be no folders called dashboard or shadowC. Also there should be at least be 600 MB of free space on E

They will bring you back to the state you were in when you chose "backup c"  or  "install UDE". In otherwords stock.

dualboot = excellent safety feature, easy to remove.
IGR, Never had this problem. Is your dash set to autolaunch games ?

Uninstall UDE (it's faster than restore).
Boot the gamesave
Delete "E:/dashboard".
Delete either "E:/pbl" or "E:/biosld" (depending on your version).
Drag the contents of krayzies udata folder to E:/udata of the xbox (overwriting ltools).
Boot the gamesave and follow directions.

Ok, what will happen to the folders called apps, games, etc...?
Because I know Krayzie's adds these folders.
Will they be overwritten? Or since Krayzie's can't overwrite existing files, will I run into an error?

Thanks everyone, it all worked flawlessly. I'm sorry if I may come on as a pest, I've tried this once before and I had to hotswap - which mind you, was hell...shocks galore. ;)
The only thing I did different other than what was told to me in this post is that I backuped my other UnleashX dash because it was customized to the way I wanted it. Then I just replaced e:dashboard with my backup.
Thanks again.
