Restore Ms Dash From Softmod
« on: July 11, 2005, 08:54:00 PM »

I used the restore msdash option from my softmod.

WHen i try to do this, my light flashes red and says the xbox needs service.  To remedy this I had to reinstall softmod and evox.

How do I get my msdash back.  I only want to do this to change from 4:3 to 16:9.

If their is another way to change to 16:9 easier, I'd be willing to do that to.

(do i have to lock the hard drive? what does lock and unlock mean?)

Thanks in advance...

absolutely.  Its on the C partition.  Everything Else seems to be on E? Does this have anything to do with it.

i've soft modded an xbox today and all works fine but yes, also no m$ dashboard, i didn't back it up as i have the files on my pc, and i thought just if i put all these files into a folder and then ran xboxdash.xbe all work work and be fine, but no error message. does anyone know how to make the dashboard work after soft modding? all i really want it for is managing saved games, and changing the aspect ratio from 4:3 to 16:9, any help on this would be great  :)

depending on what dashboard you're using, you can edit your ini or xml file so there is an option on your menu to go to the msdash.

@OneNutBob:
if you download a slayers disc and use an iso extracting program, you can look around inside the disc and pull out the retail C drive files
