why do you keep posting asking for other alternatives? this is the last time i'm going to say it. XBOXHDM IS THE ONLY WAY

you say it seems confusing? you probably don't know anything about it and you're just assuming. if you don't use xboxhdm then your xbox will be that way for however long you choose to not use xboxhdm. its up to you though. im perfectly fine with my fully functional xbox that i fixed a couple times with xboxhdm

forgot what i just posted. why don't you calm down and read aloud what the tutorial is saying. PRESS on the warranty sticker for a little indent. that's where the screw is. all that is useless if you don't have the tools to take apart the xbox. as for the ribbon cable, you unplug the one thats currently plugged into your pc's HDD and plug that into the xbox's hdd.

I know how to open my XBOX,just I don't have the right tools to open it....there are two screws that need a specific type of screwdriver to open. Can I send one of you my HDD and I will pay for you to fix it? I just don't want to go through all the hassle.

No I can probably do it,but I don't have a car to go get a torx wrench for the two screws, and if I use a philips there is a chance of me screwing up the screws. Also HDM has a possibility of screwing my harddrive. I just don't feel going through all of the trouble of opening my XBOX,opening my dads computer loading hdm and doing all of that. I am pretty sure my dad computer has no extra ribbon cables.

All i can say is it sucks to be you.  talk a friend into letting you use his computer and find a ride somehow to get the torx wrenches.

You know what will be the easiest way for me to get it fixed? I open my XBOX and send the harddrive to one of you guys,I ship it to one of you and pay you on PayPal for doing me a good deed. It isn't much but I can give one of you like 20$<seem right?     Or I can send a money order with it or something, but somehow I can pay one of you to do this for me.

Unfortunately you can't send the HD to someone to get it fixed.  The HD is locked, and only your xbox can unlock it, thus the need for hotswapping.  Unless of course you copied the eeprom.bin file via ftp after the softmod.  xboxhdm is the only way to go.

Ok,I can't hotswap,My dad doesn't even know that it is broke. I have no neighbors that would be willing to let me see there PC's,and also I don't feel like going through the hassle of it and then it screwing up my harddrive. I have 2 Halo SE XBOX's,one is currently broke and the other is modded with a modchip, both have neon pulsating lights on the bottom that are glass and green leds on top with a clear green jewel. I wanted to softmod my unmodded XBOX and this is what I get,it was my first time doing this.

Also how come there were two evoX dashes on there? Was it because one was the file manager and stuff? because one was blue and it happened when I eject it and leave the tray open, the other is a dash that goes on when I just press the power button.

Hmmmm, you have a xbox with a chip?  I believe you can put the screwed up HD into the chipped box and fix it.  I am not too sure though, so you should search.

You have to hotswap into your chipped xbox, then ftp through your modded xbox and fix the files.  there is a tut around here somewhere, check the faqs.

the reason for two evox dashes is that you must have set up a dual boot on your xbox.

there's your problem, you went around deleting stuff you didn't know what it did.  Here's my suggestion, hotswap to your modded xbox, wipe the c drive, either do an NDURE install or put the stock c from slayers back on.  If you put the stock c, i would delete your old gamesave exploit and replace with krayzie's installer and softmod your xbox.  Good luck and if you don't know how to do any of that SEARCH because it has been answered several times.
