switch dvd brands. a brand i know thats sold in stores that is compatible with all DVD drives is TDK DVD-R. they're pretty cheap... about $20.00 for fifty discs. better than memorex's 35.00 for 50 discs

for future reference, xiso is the same as iso

get isomaker 2.0 -

TDK DVD-r are fantastic discs to use - or Verbatim DVD-r.

Strange that the discs work on your friends box but not yours.

I use the krayzie installer with splinter cell and all the games I burn work great for mine and my mates boxes.

Try buying a few single different brand discs and give them a try.

If the games work on your friends box , They should work on yours with no problems.

Can you play retail games from the DVD/CD drive?

It definately sounds as a dvd media problem. It surely doesn't have anything to dow ith phoenix bios loader. Not all xbox drives are the same so not all media work on all xboxes. Just try a few brands. I persoanally have good results on all xbox drives with ritek g04/5

Something to do would be this...

I had a problem with discs that a friend bought me.

I had made backups of a few of my own games and burned them to TDK media.
They worked great.

My mate bought me a box of 25 laser DVD-r discs.

Now heres what you do to tell if its a media problem.

When you load a factory game and you listen to how it actually loads the disc.

You should be able to hear the disc making a certain sound like its shuffling back and forth.

Now with the media I was having a problem with it made a totaly different sound.

You would hear the discs spin and then you would hear a strange squealing sound then it would get very quiet and then the disc would spin again making the same sound.

You can actually hear the xbox trying to read the disc then stopping then trying again and failing and giving up.

Have a listen to your burned games and compare the sound with that of a factory game.

This may help you or may confuse you totally - But it's worth a try.

As long as the games you burn at 4x are working you should not have any problems.

Personally I burn at 2x. But have done a few at 4x and they work fine.
