It's possible to do what you are asking, there are lots of tutorials on this site in the tut section, all the info you need. As in regards to Live, I think that's a bit touchy, as no one is 100% sure on what partitions they scan for foreign files, this is a risk some people take, in my opinion, you would be better off to keep one virgin Xbox for Live, and one for your modding needs.

In short, network your Xbox to your PC, if you have not already done so, go here >> http://www.evilzmods...asicnetwork.htm Once you have that done, download an ftp client, such as flashfxp (www.flashfxp.com) config a site to your Xbox. pass/user xbox/xbox Then go here >> http://xbox-scene.co...ackup-guide.php

okay i have realized there is a evox boot disk http://www.afterdawn...evolution_x.cfm , so now my questions are as follows:

1.  Will the game save exploit with Splinter Cell allow me to run the evox boot disk? and....

2.  Does the evolution x dash allow me to copy games and dvds to the xbox hard drive?

Re. 1) Yes

Re. 2) no, you need a program called dvd2xbox.  You can probably install this through an evox autoinstaller but becareful you don't choose any options that could screw over your softmod.  Just learn to ftp, it's not that hard.

so after having done the splinter cell exploit, could i just put the program dvd2xbox on a cdrw and put it on the xbox, or do i need to have the evox dashboard first.  sorry if i'm being retarded about this but i'm kind of lost.  my current idea of this is as follows:

Step 1.  Use the splinter cell exploit to run the evox boot disk and install evox on the xbox (i heard somethin about having to conect my xbox to a computer, but i was wondering if i can skip that and just install evox straight from the boot disk?)

Step 2.  Put dvd2xbox on a disk and put it in the xbox.  then install it on the xbox.  now i'm assuming i will have the option on the evox dashboard to (from the dvd2xbox software) to save the dvd or game onto my hardrive.

will these steps work or am i missing something.?

most likley the "SC thing" will use the unleashX dash,
the newer ones do.
so just put DVD2XBOX on a CD/DVD that your xbox will READ
just get started ! and you will see how easy it is....
