I think I need a little advice for the new SC installer.  I am getting a blank screen when trying to use it (BWI-SC).

I have a newer virgin box and am using AR card and software to transfer the saves.  The only thing I currently have on the drive are about 10 gamesaves from various games(not SC).  When I transferred BWI-SC 1&2 to the Xbox HD, there are two folders:  one is 15 blocks with a save of 4 blocks( I re-copied the files and the folder changed to 13 blocks with a save of 5 blocks).  Two is 412 blocks with a save of 404 blocks ( I re-copied these files also and the folder changed to 413 blocks with a save of 404 blocks).

After loading SC and selecting check points, the screen turns blank and it just hangs at this point.  The light on the Xbox stays solid green and never changes.  From here I am forced to just reboot.

I dont know what I can do to get past this point.  I have tried deleting the saves and re-copying them over with no luck.  I have a feeling the gamesaves are being corrupted by the AR card.  I have tried copying the save from my computer into the 'pc database' and the 'memory card' folders in the AR software.  I have also reformatted the card in between each attempt.
I tried to install it many times with the same results.

Somebody please hit me with some good news.  Maybe I am missing something here?

Thanks-
bR

QUOTE(BlackWar @ Mar 21 2005, 10:56 AM)

Already have files on F: but want to install this installer.....
The best option here is to either install the stock HD option and then edit the xml file to fit your needs (inable F: partition, ect.)

thats what i did (E:\CurrentDash\config.xml)
<EnableDriveF>True</EnableDriveF>
<EnableDriveG>True</EnableDriveG>
did not work...
in that setup is nkpatcher compiled without lba support ?

QUOTE
With the gamesave loaded, FTP into the xbox and create the folder "E:\CurrentDash". Then copy the unleashx.xbe into that folder and rename it to default.xbe. You then can use the re-install large HD option and all of your files on F: should be safe. Please keep in mind that it is a very, very good idea that the files in C: are 100% stock before you do this option though, or else you may run into problems down the road.

will i get F:\ and G:\  (nkpatcher.67) ?????????

no harm was done just uninstalled stock HDD
and every thing is fine  smile.gif

Can't believe some of these people had to think a long time to figure out what the "source" was

I am having the same problem with the SC version. It just freezes at the screen where you choose Level or Checkpoint, regardless of which I pick.

it very well could be an AR problem. AR memory cards are known to "dislike" savegame exploits. See if somebody you know can borrow you their memory card and give that a try.

both versions of NKpatcher should be compiled with lba support (note, should be, but it has been a while ago that I compiled them, so I could be mistakin). to inable the F: support in unleashx, you need to go under its settings (or edit the xml file, which ever you prefer.), but I think I compiled the stock HD nkpatcher to not use F: (becasue it is ment to be used on a stock HD). If you really want, you can can install it, and while the exploit gamesave is still running, replace the nkpatcher with the one that is in the NKF zip file.

as for the DVD not playing movies anymore, you may need to re-setup unleashx to point to the dvd player sofware that you had. go into the the config settings and change it to the default.xbe that played your movies:

DVD: E:\Apps\XBMC\default.xbe

Thanks for the reply.

Is DVD: E:\Apps\XBMC\default.xbe the dvd player from the MS dash? I didn't have any other dvd player software on there before other than this.

I'm guessing the config settings is a file which needs to be edited on my PC?

sad.gif

I have read that when using a crossover cable to network my pc and xbox with this installer, I will need to edit the config.ini file for the installer to achieve a static ip for the xbox.  Does this mean that I need to unzip the installer, edit the ini file, re-zip the files, and then re-transfer the save to the xbox?  Is this correct?  I pulled up the config.ini and I see where it says DHCP enabled, but I dont know how to edit it.

Sorry if this is a n00bish problem, I know very little about networking.  I would really like to get this thing softmodded today if possible.

Thanks
