QUOTE(gruntswarm @ Mar 16 2005, 09:14 PM)
From what i've heard of this installer it looks great!  I don't have 007 or MA, so I eagerly await the SC version!  I have never softmodded before, but this will be the one I will use, because it looks easy and safe.

Could you tell me some because i'm a complete n00b at this!  As is said i've never soft modded or modded before.  I also want a reversable one because I want to be able to safely play on live, which is why this one looked good to me.

Exactly that was my point. People always tend to stick with what they used themselves or heard somewhere without actually looking a bit further.

I think I might  be mis-reading something here.
I did the back up of the eeprom & the c drive. that is the point at which I went to FTP into the xbox, and its reqireing a username/password....
I have to this point not seen anything anywhere that says I should be using one... am I missing something here?

meh... as long as im not screwed thats all I care about.........heh.

I did get the backup of the stock c... at least it says that I have that backup.
Ill dig around in there for that & see if i can find the eeprom file in the saves...

but from what you are saying, it sounds like I can not run the installer again & back it up that way (because its not the original any longer) If i got what you are saying correctly.

and Jakegame:
yes, its a sotware installer & its very very easy to do if you just follow the instructions explicitly.

alright everyone, the version that you have been waiting for is now out! SC PAL and NTSC have both been released! here is whats new/changed (in all installers):

Changes:
Installer name has been changed to BWI. this should help make it easer to find in the gamesave manager.
The gamesave icons have also been changed (all versions) to match the gamesave (thanks again jcupp114!).
Included (in all versions) is a new option. If you look in the system section, you will now see "Fix Broken C:", this should help fix the "empty/missing C:" issue.

Upgrading:
To upgrade from an older version to this one you must (in this order)
1: Run the Restore HD option
2: Remove the old gamesave from the xbox
3: Get the new gamesave on the xbox
4: Run the Re-install option.

As always if anything comes up (dont work, screws up xbox, tries to contact "mother gates", ect) be sure to either post it here or to PM me about it.

TC and have fun peeps!

The simplicity of finding this is somewhat mindboggling.
