Xbox Dies While Watching Dvd

A box i have with a flashed TSOP died while watching a DVD, Comes on Goes off Comes on flashes red. The MFG date was 2003- 01 -23  but it had a fan on the processor, so its a v1.0, so im assuming this was a refurbished box, and that has something to do with it. I hooked up the DVD drive to another box it worked fine, hooked up HD to other box it worked fine, so i guess it has to be the motherboard. Any ideas?
