Help With Splinter Cell Soft Mod
« on: January 23, 2005, 11:21:00 PM »

I've been trying to softmod my Xbox for... a year and a half now. I want to do it even more since I just bought a new Xbox.

Can someone help me out with the Splinter cell soft mod?

I downloaded the file from xbins... but it is a .rar file and i'm not sure how im supposed to copy that to the HDD.

Has anyone here softmodded using Splinter Cell?

Can you tell me which file to use? File 1 or File 2?

I can prove ANY info you need to know to help me... please reply so I can finally get this done!

once you have the gamesave exploit on your memory card then copied to your hdd. you start the game up go to start game- then level and it should say linux and then checkpoints and it will load into somewhere to load ude.

Thanks alot guys for the quick response... a couple minutes after I made this post, I figured out that I needed both files on the memory card.

Ok, so I loaded the files on my memory card... and loaded up Splinter Cell... selected the file and it just keeps freezing.   huh.gif

Can you guys help me with this problem?  blink.gif  I've seen it around the forums, but havent found a fix for it.

you didnt load the files right the files you have to load are like a bunch of numbers so keep opening the folders until it has like some numbers and letters not just folder one and folder two.

those number files you just transfer to the memory card as they are then transfer those to the xbox hdd they should say linux when on the xbox memory card.  then open them as saved games in sc.

I cannot transfer the number files through Action Replay... it says it is an invalid file.  blink.gif

The only files it transfered were Part 1 and Part 2.

....dont know if this helps but...go to my computer, double click your hdd that you have your action replay software installed onto, go to program files....then go to uhh (i cant remember off hand which folder it is...i think its datel or something... its like the brand of action replay or something), then go to gamsaves...look at the name of the file that the splinter cell cheats are that came with action replay (copy that name EXACTLY THE SAME to a piece of paper) then delete the file...then take your software you want to put on the mem card and make it a zip archive or whatever (dont ask me how to do this i am just explaining how to do it not in very much detail) and title it the same as the filename you copied to the paper...drag the archive back to the action replay folder. start up action replay...then in the center colum drag the file to the left and it should start copying to mem card. i softmod xbox's with 007 exploit and i use that same process...if you have any questions email me at [email protected] or IM me at llsten2cky

That didnt work.

Anyone else who has recently softmodded with Splinter Cell?

Just want to get this straight...

Unzip the itools rar file and transfer Part 1 and Part 2 into my Action Replay/Memory Card... Load files on HDD... Load Splinter Cell... Checkpoints>> Load "Linux" file... and thats it?

I get to the Linux file, but it freezes.  :(

You have to zip the two files before sending them to your mem card.  The first folder in each zip should be UDATA.  Inside each UDATA file, there is another file with loads of numbers.  You need to copy a datelinfo.xbx file from a downloaded savegame, into this numbered folder in each zip, so action replay can recognise the save properly.

If you've already done that, then make sure the two saves (splinter cell profile and the linux_installer) are copied to your xbox HD, and that it's the only splintercell profile on your xbox.  Also make sure you are using the original splintercell disc, and that it is not the platinum edition.
