Copy a softmod package like itools to ur hdd, run an exploitable game, exploit in, bam ftp access...U won't even have to softmod again if u know what ur doing and just replace files in C where they go.

you do have the eeprom.bin of your xbox now do you?  if you've got the wits for trying to create an autoinstaller but didn't get your eeprom.bin before testing it you're not ready for even attempting to create something like that

in which case a hotswap is indeed your only way out

however, if you do have your eeprom.bin, xboxhdm can unlock your drive, rebuild it and relock it in a pretty straightforward way...

just posted this as a possible option to avoid the risky hotswapping

I do have aquestion for ya though...

I'm new to this softmod and just wanted something new to do (modchipped dozens of xbox's but no softmods). Anyway, can I do a softmod that doesn't change the msdash from xboxdash.xbe and boots to unleashx or media center? I can get it working booting up unleashx the way I want it but at the expense of renaming the xboxdash.xbe. Or does it have to be done that way?
