Another 05 Error Using Hdd Maker
« on: December 04, 2004, 10:12:00 PM »

Hi, just wondering if someone could point me in the right direction. I downloaded a prog form a newsgroup and attempted a soft mod.  I created the iso booted into linux used hddmaker to "build an ew harddrive from scratch". I followed all instruction created c e f partirons . According to the tutorial after it was finished creating partitons backing up system files and all that good stuff I turned off pc unplugged hd and placed it in my xbox. When my xbox rebooted I got an 05 error. I have been reading other posts and I believe I unlocked my xbox hard drive (it was a new wd 120 gig) and the program didnt lock it. How can I find the eeprom do i need this to lock drive? The tutorial and hddmaker said nothing about backing up eeprom. So I guess is my question is how can i lock a hard drive wihtout eeprom or how can i get the eeprom? Thank you in advance for your support.  shawn

you should totally read the official xboxhdm thread, its in the xbe exploits forum right under this one. and for your eeprom you can just load evox off a gamesave (old harddrive) and go to system utils and choose backup, then it makes a backup folder in your evox folder w/ your eeprom.bin file
