Xboxhdm Help
« on: November 26, 2004, 06:15:00 PM »

I downloaded xboxhdm 1.9 from two different sources. I put my files in the c: and e: and the eeprom.bin in the eeprom file. I executed the make-iso-.bat file like i was supposed to. Now heres the problem. Xboxhdm loads up to the main screen just fine, but when i select any of the choices my computer just reboots and loads up with the main screen again. Why is this happening? Is there something i forgot to do? All help appreciated.

it doesn't freeze. It gets to the main screen and when i choose any of the options it reboots the computer.  I tried the cd on my friends laptop and xboxhdm worked fine.  Do i need to update my bios or something?  Thanks for any help

Ok Try this, disconnect all Drive's except the drive with the Xboxhdm CD-R and also plug the power cable into the HD you want to build,  Boot to CD then when the menu is up connect the IDE cable into the back of the HD you want to build.  Then select an option.

If your computer still restarts, check your bios for security features and anything else that may effect the CD booting.

Let me know how you get on.  Also make sure the jumpers are correct on both the CD-ROM and HD.

thanks, i'll try this, hopefully it will work.  I also kind of need to access my pc hdd with xboxhdm to extract an eeprom off of an image.   I'll try this same idea and see if i can get it to work.  Thanks for the help.

p.s. about the bios, someone suggested i download knoppix and see if that boots and it booted just fine.

alright, i tried it and it didn't work.  I can boot into option 4, which is booting to freedos.  but when i try option 1 it says

"Loading /isolinux/fatximage
Loading initrd.gz ..................................................................................................
...........................................................................................................................
.................................................."

and then it reboots.  I'm open to any ideas.

I've tried that.  I've burned several cd's at 2x speed.  I'm open to any other suggestions though
