You mean it will only give you 10GB on f:, or 2GB on f:, Or no space on f: (That would = 8GB total actually)..  You cannot access f: at all if you are running a stock bios..  If you cloned a seagate stock hdd, then you should see all the space on f: after reformatting (2GB before)..  If you have a 10GB f: then I have no idea what happened.. I'd try scandisking it somehow..

You don't need a modchip but a better formatting program. Can't help you on that though as I upgraded my HD(80G) with my own tools which did the formatting during the process.

Hope others would jump in but be assured that no modchip is needed.

Ok I don't know what the f*ck chimp is talking about, but you need need to tell us how you softmodded you xbox because you are right you can't physically change the bios but you can make it run different bios than stock (if you get it). And your bios is what allows you to do all the cool stuff like view you F: drive, and play your games. If anything your bios that you got doesn't support a bigger drive (which is why you need to talk to us) but other than that I can't really think of why it wouldn't work because you have to have it locked. Just talk to us and we shall answer.

I dunno whether your xbox is set up at all decently, or if its a timebomb of bad exploit management..  You might be loading PBL or nkpatcher (bios fixes) at boot without knowing..  Do you need to sign all your apps? What are the exact sizes of your B&E fonts?  (If its not UDE you should change them) What are the exact sizes of any xbe's in c:\ or e:\?
Try this, install PBL as an app (Probably already signed fine, should be -habibi key, or possibly -font if you are outdated..)  Use PBL to load a bios then try to reformat your f:..  The retail bios simply cannot even see the f:..  You need to alter the bios.
