Hello, i have an xbox from my friend. he has the v.1 xbox got it right when it came out first day heh. but any way he got his xbox modded via soft mod the early font exploit using mech assualt. one day he got the bright idea of deleting one of the files on his xbox thinking he was replacing the current skin.
And now here i am, he had asked me to help him fix his Xbox, all he gets is the Your Xbox requires Service message. I tried to hotswap the drive with my computer but im not sure if im successful or not. I mean in windows when i do a scan it picks it up but of course there aren't any program that work in windows. so i tried xboxhdm v 1.6. in dos but it says my HD is locked. no matter what i try i can never get it to unlock. I have a modded xbox my self same moddle same mod as my friend should i try to hotswap the 2 xbox hds? but im not sure of the procedure after i successfuly hotswap it.
I basicly want to know if there is anyhting i can do to fix it.
or is my technique in hotswapping wrong.
*techinque for hotswapping is. wait for the ms logo to appear and quickly unplug ide cable and plug it in the computer.
Ive tried this hotswapping for awile now and its getting on my nerves. tell me if im doing anyhting wrong!
