QUOTE (Ossan @ Oct 2 2004, 07:16 PM)
Hi, I have a 1.6 softmodded xbox using ude2. I would like to be able to play xbox live with my origional disks(not backups as i know this is not possible) Is there a way i can do this without having to install a mod chip? I've read a few posts about it and it seems everyone has a different opinion on the subject. Thanks,

just put the game in and turn off the xbox. then turn the xbox on with the game in there. it'll work.

tongue.gif but i guess if that's how it goes than i'm ok with it. So i guess i just use my live cd to install live - and there's no worries about anything?

When the UDE is installed you will be banned if you try to access Xbox Live console from the M$ Dashboard. Using the uninstall option will however completely remove the hacked files from C:, so it should be safe to access Xbox Live. One of the exploitable games are needed to re-install the UDE though. Keeping a copy of the update.xbe in the game save folder (see next point) will allow you to reinstall the package even after a dashboard upgrade on Xbox Live.

you can go live by putting in a retail game and boot up with that. you must have the latest dash and an  acount set though. If you were smart you looked around for your answer cuz it has been answered like a milion times and there even is a tutorial on it in the tutorials section in the xbe exploits.

if it is in the tutorial section in the xbe exploits it means it is put there by a reason. Not all tuts get placed there and if it is in there it means it is not outdated and is checked by lots of people including moderators. Also you can look at the date of a tut and the reactions by experienced people. There are lots of contradictions cuz lots of people think they know it all but they actually don't.

just make sure that you already have an account setup. If you don't already uninstall UDE and set it up, and make sure you have the latest dash ((i believe 5969 or something like that)) then you can install it again.

The only problem with going live on UDE, is you never know if they come up with a fix to UDE and patch it with a live update. So be careful.
