Halonmp2/cxe Complication With Softmod

does anyone know why NMP is not compatible with soft mods?  a friend of mine with an xecuterchip brought over a working copy of nmp 1.1 loaded it on my softmoded xbox, the menu loads but when you choose nmp it goes to a blank screen. months later i just found the NMP2 /CXE  installer . i still have a soft modded xbox, but now i have a harddrive upgrade too running with the newest version of EVOX i do believe. anyway the Installer process went flawless. i started with a brand new copy of halo, and same thing.. when i choose NEW MAPS it goes to a black screen just like wht happened to me with My NMP 1.1 a few months back.

has anyone else had this problem?
