I'm having some troubles with an aladdin live modchip.  My friend wanted me to mod his xbox so i said yes.  Anyways long story short i hooked up all the wires made sure everything was secure and whatnot and then booted it up and it fragged.  I tried a couple different things but it frags every time.

So what i was thinkin was maybe i have it chip set on the header pins backwards or something.  Anyways his xbox is a 1.3 so if anyone knows something about putting this chip on a 1.3 that i dont please tell me im at a standstill and he needs it to play halo 2 :(  <

Without knowing what you have tried or how you have it sat on the header its not easy.
It should be sat on the header so the SST chip is nearest to the outside edge of the board. looking towards the LPC from the edge of the board the quick solder slot should be on your right.
Check and double check the LPC soldering. Also make sure you have BT connected.
The only other thing is the bios is possibly the M8.16 version. this should work long enough to boot and allow a re-flash in a 1.3 but may be giving problems.
If you did at any point plug the chip in the wrong way the chip could now be damaged.  <

alright so i should have it so that the sst49lf020 is not covering the D0 right.

When i plug it in that way its putting tremendus pressure on one of the silver transistors or whatever they are right below the LPC points.  I checked the LPC points twice and redid them once to make sure there was nothing wrong with them.  I did put it in the wrong way at first i hope i didnt break it  :(
oh well thanks for the help.

EDIT: this account and MuscularPigeon are the same person just so you arent confused i must have forgotten thats this account was signed in ont his comp and not my regular one  <_<

Ground the d0 point on the chip to the screw hole.  I had the same problem and that seemed to get it going.  <
