Ok i got another xbox with a dash of 5659 or something what softmod should i use on it with out having to downgrade i hear UDE is good ? by itools. But i would like some recommendations.

yeah UDE is the only exploit that will work without downgrading your dash. You need to find out your kernel first though to see if you can use UDE1 or UDE2.

I am assuming since i have a 5710 i can use UDE right ?

Requirements
Xbox with kernel 3944-5838. (If you have kernel 5530 or above you must choose nkpatcher or PBL-Metoo on installation).
One of the ltools package. They are available at the 'usual places' (/XBOX/Operating Systems/linux/distributions/ltools) as "ready to use" packages including the ltools and game save hack. The are available for the 007 AUF, MechAssault and Splinter Cell games.
Either dashboard 4920, 5659 or 5960 installed or the update.xbe from one of these dashboards. Alternative the exploitable update.xbe can be added directly to the package (see below).
Either a memcard and an exploitable game (MA, SC, 007) or ftp access

i hae done a Mordens Audio Hack on a 4920 before so i still have all the other tools such as:

M$ mem card
AR
007 AUF
Ethernet + Cable + router
anything else ?

yeah you can use that to install the UDE2. which you need on kernels 5713 or higher

How can i tell the difference from UDE and UDE2? What are the file names? OR is it a matter of ver like UDE = v1 and UDE2 = V1.2 or something can someone explain so its that i wont mess up my xbox

if you use ltools 1.7.5 it asks you wether you wanna install UDE1 or UDE2.

ok i got it working now and stuff. But i wanted to know how can i play backups? I burned Spiderman 2 on a 4x dvd-r @ 2x tho. Now i put it in but it wont play. How come ?

well that is a decision everyone can make for themselves. I like dvd media cuz it's way more portable. And a new hd could be expensive.

depends on what dash you are running. different dashboards have different ways to load games. You can also put in the game and reset your xbox. It should boot to the game if you used pbl.

im using mxm but there is a option to configure pbl. SHould i configure it ?
