I need someone to direct me to or give me step by step instructions on how to fix the mad gouki's screw up with ltools by Idots.
Mad Gouki modded your xboxes?  Or did you just read a tut and figure nothing could go wrong.  You should be giving them some credit, and sling the blame at yourself.  The ppl who are most likely to softmod successfully are those who read all the relevant documentation and problems others have faced, and have prepared a means of recovery before tampering with critical system files..  The ppl most likely to fail are those who jump into the first tutorial they see, then call it the mistake of the authors when they fail.
Looks like you've got some hunting and downloading in your near future if you made no backup.  Or you could always take krayzie up on his offer, I'm sure it still stands..smile.gif

if you have the backups of the original c and e drive on your computer (e drive is optional, but you need eeprom from it) and eeprom just use xboxhdm to rebuild your drive. if you did not, you can ftp into the xbox from ltools i think, so i might be able to fix it from there.

if you can boot games, you can get back evox still with gamesave exploit

the question is if you ever backed up ur C/E drives and eeprom, you shold always do that before copying ANY files over or tampering with ur xbox

Or hotswap with xboxhdm and reinstall the MS Dashboard/UDE.

Or if you have the EEPROM on your PC (You should!) you don't even need to hotswap.

Since C: is fucked and there's no gamesaves on the hard drive your screwed. Your Live idea might work but I think it'll just make things worse, since Live probably won't go and redownload all those font files. And actually when you go to update it it'll just crash anyhow - since the updater uses the font files anyhow.

Were you using an exploitable dashboard? Try getting a 4920 backup from the slayer's disk if you want to use mad gouki's tutorial....

or you could just replace what's on your C drive with it(granted you have FTP access), and presto, it'll work....

Other than that, I'd say use XB HDM...

my tutorial isnt written to fuck peoples xboxes up, but its not the easiest thing to do in the world...
my xbox died later for some reason still unknown to me, my guess is the bne reloaded fonts, which are ancient nowadays...

please people stop tryin to do my tutorial there are easeir ways to do this exploit now... a year ago sure it was great and all but now my tutorial is based off of old files and is really more of a hazard than any sort of help.

That`s fair enough Gouki you know with the development of technology and all that.

By the way I just wanted to ask you a quick question (well 2 actually)

Is there anyway to play my chipped PAL x box in japan? I bought a japanese x box and swapped the power supplies. The x box works fine but it wont display properly on an ntsc TV. Is there a way to change this?

If not i will put the power supply back in the japanese xbox and do a soft mod on this and then put my old hdd in the new xbox. In terms of my kernel on the jap box it is 1.0.0.4034.1 and my dash is the same. What exploit would you say is the best for me to use?

Jamie

you can edit the eeprom so it gives an NTSC output. You could even do that with enigmah video mode switcher. Also with that old kernel you could use the UDE although the UXE should work fine also.
