Using A Usb Stick To Transfer Gamesave Exploits!
« Reply #15 on: August 23, 2004, 04:01:00 PM »

I've done everything said in your guide, and I have a question:

At the very last step, 'Select "Don't Search. I will choose the driver the install", and click next. Select "ActionReplay XBOX" and click next.', I had to browse for the .ini file because it didn't give me an option to use ActionReplay XBOX.  And now, when I go back to Device Manager, there's a USBIO controlled devices section and when I expand that, it shows "MaxDrive XBox"

Now, when I go to "Memory" in my XBox Dashboard with my thumbdrive plugged in through the adapter, my screen keeps blinking at me in unison with a beeping sound.

I'm using a Sandisk Cruzer mini 128 MB, which your compatibility list says works great for the MechAssault exploit (which is what I'm actually trying to do).  Any idea as to what gives?

I've booted up the xbox with thumb drive both in and out.

Edit: Ok, now after looking through the usb thumb drive compatibility list again, I found this little discrepency:

SanDisk Cruzer Mini USB Flash Drive 128MB (USB 2.0)  Works Great for mechassault install
SanDisk Cruzer Mini USB 128MB - Had to use 8MB-32MB image

I don't know which one I have, lol!   tongue.gif   And for the second one, what does it mean by "Had to use 8MB-32MB image"?

It means the only way it worked was to use the Xbox-Linux mechinstaller images and write to them the flash drive via linux or ozxmemory.

Does any one know how to convert files to these image types?

Don't use the xbox-linux gamesave hacks. The only reason you would use them is to make your xbox a linux PC AND ONLY A LINUX PC! I you want to use Evox and play games off the HD, use another hack off of xbins.

Any ideas on where I can look?  I skimmed through Xbins.org real fast cuz I'm in a hurry, but I couldn't make sense out of any of it.

no, not xbins.org, the REAL xbins... the one you use with mIRC and FlashFXP (or any other FTP program). Get the one with "(game name here)_save_with_EvoX"

I can't quite remember how to tell what version my xbox is, so I'll give you guys the info that I think you need and will let you figure it out.

K: 1.00.4817.01

D: 1.00.5960.01

Hope this helps

Edit: I figured it out, it's v1.1
