Using A Usb Stick To Transfer Gamesave Exploits!
« Reply #60 on: August 31, 2004, 05:22:00 PM »

forthex

thanks heap! It is much better now. I can see clearly what's going on.

I live in Australia. I have a PAL box.

K: 1.00.4034.01
D: 1.00.4034.01

I have two questions

1) Is this exercise work for my xbox with above kernel and dahsboard

2) I have downloaded "splinter_cell_exploit-pal.zip" file from the "Splintercell_save_With_Evox" directory. Is this UDE/2 exploit ?

Please tell me which version that I should use i.e. which file or files should I downloaded ? I want to download them today.

Many Thanks

1. yes

2. no, that's a gamesave exploit to allow the person to temporarily get into evox and gain FTP access. This is only good if you know how to manually put the hacks in (in your case spacemaster, DON'T!!) or copy DOAXBV to the harddrive and play it with a nude hack tongue.gif (don't ask me how, find out yourself... NOT FOR PEOPLE 10 AND UNDER... or anyone who finds shameless nudity offending).

go into xbins and go to \xbox\operating systems\linux\distrobutions\ltools and choose the Splinter Cell Pal exploit.

and when you get into the installer, choose UDE 1, PBL metoo (BIOS loader), and X2 49xx (i forget the last two numbers: this is the BIOS).

oh and just a heds up, don't sign your posts with "milkywaymaster". I know who you are.

yes, i have, and it worked fine for me.

IT IS CRUCIAL WHERE THE DATELINFO.XBX FILES ARE!!  your probably copying the files in the wrong place.

I downloaded this file "ltools_v1[1].7.5_SC_PAL.rar" from directory \xbox\operating systems\linux\distrobutions\ltools.

Question:

1) Is this the only file that I need to download ? since I cannot find those UDE 1, PBL metoo (BIOS loader), and X2 49xx  anywhere in xbins

2) I unrar this file and found part1 and part2 ziped files. Then I unziped these 2 files again, I have folders as you mention in the tut. However, in the directory 5553000c, there are 3 files instead of 2. They are
> SaveImage.xbx (additional)
> TitleImage.xbx
> TitleMeta.xbx
Do I need to remove the additional SaveImage.xbx file ?

3) After step 2.2. What do I have to do ? copy these files into USB stick ? How/steps ?

Thank heaps!

1. Yes, it is a PACKAGED save and includes everything you need.

2. Do not remove the saveimage.xbx file.

3. plug your now moddified USB stick into a USB port on your PC, open the Action replay software, drag the two saves (part1 and part 2, with the datelinfo.xbx files in them) into the Memory card section. The bar behind the "MEMORY CARD" text should fill up, from left to right, orange. When it is done, you should see the two saves in the MEMORY CARD column.

Hmm, with my RCA lyra mp3 player the xbox sees it as a memory card and formated it.  But after 10 seconds or so the mp3 player will flash saying file transfer and the xbox exits out of the memory card manager and only shows the hard drive.  I followed the tutorial and got my mp3 player to be recognized as a Maxdrive..but I can't drag and drop the game save since the AR doesn't see a memory card.

Could it be a problem with the mp3 player?  I'm going to try my digital camera next..but I don't want to mess the digicam or the mp3 player.

EDIT:  After plugging in my 256 sd card, the xbox sees the memory card and is stable(it does not exit out of the memory manager and I managed to save a copy of house of the dead 3)  It should work...however it doesn't work in Action Replay..perhaps I should downgrade?  No memory card shows up under the AR software.  I'm gonna restart and see if the maxdrive driver updated perhaps..

The problem I'm having now is that I can't copy the ltools MA 1.75 to the Action Replay software(both the old and the new version)  No memory card shows up.  However I used Ozxmemory USB explorer and wrote the FATX images from www.xbox-linux.org and the xbox sees the game saves(dashboard recovery, run linux, and something else)  I succesfully copied the saves onto the xbox hard drive which means that my mp3 does work as a memory card..it's just that action replay doesn't read it.  (the device manager sees MaxDrive, and yes I followed the tutorial whichs says to changed the xbreader.ini file and I'm pretty sure I followed it correctly.

Is "maxdrive" the usual name of your USB stick? That sounds like another Codemasters software package.  It shouldn't be under the "Universal Serial Bus controllers" tab, it should be under the "USBIO" tab.

It's under the usbio thing and I found out while looking through the xbreader ini file that the device name is indeed maxdrive right when i install the AR software

the reason why the savegames you wrote to the memory card aren't showing up in AR is because they aren't AR compatible saves: ozxmemory writes savegame IMAGE files to an xbox formatted USB stick, and the AR software puts the actual files straight to the card. It's like the difference between an ISO file (writing the saves with ozxmemory), and the contents of the ISO file (using the AR software): the ISO is an image (1 file), and the contents are REAL files (1 folder per save).

and the ozxmemory image files don't have the datelinfo.xbx files needed for the AR software to see that these are real AR saves.

What am I missing here. ohmy.gif

After the step 2.2 which I copied Datelinfo.xbx into "5553000c" and "21585554". I then open AR replay software, however I could not see neither "part1" or "part2" anywhere ? I can see "All Level Unlock" under Splinter Cell...

Please help as my bro wants the memory back.  sad.gif

many thanks
