ftothe3 - Thank you for your reply, I tried that but the CD won't boot... the only CD-R software I have is Nero and CDRECORD... does anyone have instructions on using cdrecord to burn the ISO?

nero burns isos. use recorder -> burn image.

Thats odd... I used the included BAT file to create the ISO of the selected directory, where I copied the desiered contents of the C drive, then tried using Nero to burn the ISO... tried twice, once TAO and DAO... but neither boot from the CD... I have successfully booted from CD just a little while ago when reinstalling the OS via WinXP CD... interesting... guess I'll play around more with it.

Make sure you use Slayers 2.5 C: and E: files for making the cd in hdm. Then try it again, also Alcohol 120% is a great image burner.

you do not need a back-up of the ENTIRE harddrive. You just need the eeprom (the password file that the xbox stores on a small chip to unlock the harddrive).

can i do all of this without having a mod chip? I'm sorry to kind of butt in on this conversation as i did, but am having extreme problems with a softmod gone wrong. can i use this hd program to restore my hd to its origional settings? I used the backup option in evox, and am assuming that data is in the folder called backup in the c drive. Is there a tutorial on doing this? Sorry for the trouble - I have been searching on these forums for almost 5 hours with no luck. Thanks

ossan you need to hotswap your hard drive into your pc while booting to xboxhdm instead of windows. when this is done you need to get your backup of your c drive and unzip or extract it if you have to then copy all of the files to the root of your c drive.
