I have the same stick but in 128MB, and don't have any problems getting the Xbox to fomat it.  Just plug it into the PSO adapter and go into memory.  Only thing I can think of: is it empty?  Because mine came with an app for "locking" the stick in XP which I got rid of before plugging into the Xbox.  Don't know if it makes a difference.

Good luck, and if you ever get past this step, help me out with the next one, cause I'm stuck!

Thanks for the replies, viper023 that's the site that told me it was compatible, and I did notice before where it said "Sometimes a unit reported as "working" by one person is found not to be by another. In most - not all - cases this is due to cable or procedural errors." I have the 'Sandisk Mini Cruzer 256Mb USB 2.0' which is reported as working... I still think there's some way to get it to work, but I lost the link to the site so thanks for posting it. If you had the same problem how did you deal with it? I haven't finished reading the site you posted, so sorry if it says on there and I didn't notice, but either way please respond.

Machingon, yes it's empty... I wonder if it has anything to do with the lock, but mine has a switch on it, that locks and unlocks the drive, (I'm not sure if you have the same switch) -- I have tried both in attempt to format the drive on the Xbox. Thanks for your imput though! And as soon as I figure this out I'll try and help you with whatever is next.

Anyone else who has knowledge of this, help would still be greatly appreciated, thanks.

This just occurred to me: have you tried plugging the card in before turning the xbox on?  Just an idea.

I've tried putting the drive/adapter in at certain times, none of which have worked, including putting it in before turning the xbox on. Thanks for both of your responses again, and now I'm a bit further, but stuck at another dead end--maybe.

I bought a PNY 64 Attache, which the list says it's not compatible, and that it's compatible, it says it doesn't work because it's 'damaged.' Well I got the Xbox to format it, and recognize that it's there... but when I put in the memory card (with or without a gamesave--empty or not empty) it always says 'The memory unit you inserted is not working correctly. It has been erased.' It even says this after I've erased it on the PC, and the Xbox, no matter what I do the message comes up as soon as I put in the PSO Adapter + Thumb drive.

If anyone's got past this with a similar or same problem, please let me know, I need a response quickly so I'm still able to take it back.

Again and help is appreciated, and if someone could name off some thumb drives that they bought at Best Buy or Staples (that worked all the way through) I'd be grateful, thanks again.

yeah it is supposed to do that. then you use the action replay software to transfer the gamesave over.

i dont know how you got that far with the attache but it dosnt work. i have one and as soon as i plug it in it says its damaged. you same as me got confused by the list and didnt pay attention to what it says. the list says the pny 64 mb drive does work and that the pny 64 mb attache dosnt work. reurn the attache and try again. i have a sandisk 128 meg that gets formated no prob but i havnt figured out how to get it recognized by action replay.

Night:

I've got the same card and I'm getting the same problem!  However, I always get the "will erase" message.  So frustrating...if you fix it, please let me know how you got it working.
