I re-unlocked/disabled security and locked it with the correct password from the NEW drive, shut down the PC, connected the new drive to my xbox. Powered the damn thing on...suprise! It worked biggrin.gif

So now you know you should never make this mistake or make sure you are using the CORRECT password!

wow, the respond time here sucks. Well, i got it modded. It was the AR memory card. I brought an official M$ memory card, then it worked.
I have a another question, if there is anybody, how do you get avalaunch installed into the xbox or is a crossover CAT5 cable really needed? Can you just use a straight CAT5 cable?

you need either a crossover cable, or a router....and you put avalaunch into your dashboard folder (wherever it is, if you used Ltools it will be E:\dashboard) and name the avalaunch xbe to default.xbe (you'll need to name the former default.xbe to something else)

I'm thinking about softmodding my Xbox this weekend, but my router will not accept IPs in the 192.168.0.x range.  They have to be in 192.168.1.x or they will not connect.  I changed my PC's IP to 192.168.0.2 and I couldn't even ping my router.  Will I still be able to install Linux if I have an installation DVD burned?  Do I need to change my Xbox's IP and if so?

Thanks
