Confused Beyond Belief! (which To Install?)
« on: August 04, 2004, 09:43:00 PM »

so, i used the MA exploit and i have the evox save on my hard drive, so now i can load evox by throwing in MA and loading the game save, and i also can FTP to my xbox.  so, here's my question... i've read so many things on the site my head is spinning! audio exploit, UDE2, Easter egg, UDE, double-dash exploit.... *head explodes*

i'm a simple guy who just wants to to run MAMEoX on his machine. i don't use live so that's not a problem, and i'd really like to keep the regular dashboard, or at least be able to select it through evox (right now i just get a error of 21)and what's with this clock loop thing i hear about? i was about to FTP the bert and ernie exploit (from the gouki package) when i re-read some posts and hear some things that make a noob like myself freak out . i read about some kind of MA font that stops the clock looping, but again, i'm a noob and most of the guides here seem to be written by people that have been doing this enough, and they seem to skip steps they understand, but noobs like myself do not.

is there a fool-proof set of instructions that a moron like myself can use to get the above result?

any help would be appreciated!!!!

Install the UDE. If your kernel is 5713 or higher you can look around for UDE2

i do have a real question though:

is there any difference in backing up your xbox's hard drive?

#1. FTP to the HD and copy all folders to your computer's HD

#2. hook up your xbox HD to your computer and run HD Driver

i already did #1, but somebody told me about this method, and i was wondering if #2 did a better job backing up things, or backed up things that #1 would somehow miss.
