Small Aladin Xt On 1.6 Problem
« on: November 05, 2004, 12:32:00 AM »

Hi my 1.6 xbox with aladdin xt has a little problem. if i press pwr for 2 sec evox starts but as soon as i release the button it changes color to green instead og yellow/green and im  not able to start any programs without freezing at loading screen. If i boot and keep the power button pressed until i have started a game/program everything is fine... Can anybody tell me which connection is faulty?? and what i have to resolder?? or if i have to ground something? i dont need the msdashboard...!

Thanks

If your xbox is freezing it could be because of the new 1.6B issue.  Look around and you will find there might be a new board in the mix.  Im not sure this is your problem for sure but since u mentioned freezing it seems like it might be.  There isn't a current fix for this yet.  <

Ground D0(LFrame) and the bT point from the chip will make it always on. The problem is not likely caused by any version difference.
Some of the XT chips have had dodgy CPLD code which can make enabling correctly with the power button something of an art.  <

ok if i understand correct then ill solder off the d0 point on chip and ground it instead - so that there wont be anything connected to d0 on chip? and then ground bt point from chip to ground???  <

Hey Chancer,... so on a v1.6, a person can rebuilt the LPC and run D0 (from the mobo) to ground. Then couldn't a person simply connect the BT point on the modchip to the LPC point #2 (also on the modchip itself) - which I believe is ground. This should provide the same results for an 'always on' install right?  <

That's what I thought,... but I figured I should double-check it with someone - just in case.
