try to ftp to the d: drive on the xbox and look to see if you can pull it up that way. Also look at the tray on the dvd-drive if it has a big hole in the center than this is a Thompson drive and there have been reports that they cannot read all types of media. Try different formats and see which ones work.

ftp to the D: drive? You probably meant E: or something. Anyway if you want media that plays fine on all xboxes you should get dvd-r mediacode g04.

that's a thomson. It can read both - and + dvd's but is very picky at dvd+/-rw's. cd-r/rw is a no-no except for maybe a few cd-rw brands. Best way to go would still be to use g04 dvd's

Question With Burned Dvd
« Reply #7 on: July 06, 2004, 09:27:00 AM »

I have the UDE sofmod. And I have a problem with the signing of the xbe's.

Whats the best program to use?

I have burned any disc's that do not work.
I am ftp'ing them from xbox to pc in respective folders then using craxtion to create the xiso's. Then I use nero to burn the backups of the dvd'r. Yet, I still have not completed a good burn.

I use ritek dvd'r with the samsung drive.
Where could the possibilities be in this not working?

Thank you for your time

do you get an error or doesn't your xbox recognize them? I don't see anything wrong in your description other than that craxtion doesn't make that good xiso's (but that could be fixed cuz I talk about the old one that used gdfimage). Do you even need to sign them? You know you could use pbl or the nkpatcher so you don't have to sign.

*edit* when you say burn with nero do you mean burn it as an image or just burn it as data?

Craxation 4 automatically signs the .xbe's when the Xiso is created (Krayzie correct me if I'm wrong cuz I'm still new to the scene) so I think it to be something in the burning of the image. When you get into Nero close out the wizard and just go to the open option and navigate to the folder that contains the .iso file( you may have to select the format in the drop down menu and set it to look for nero, cue and iso images on the file type) when you open it and burn it, it should burn the correct format.

I can hardly imagine that craxtion signs xbe's. I think you are confused with the patchin of the media flags in the xbe's which is something else. Anyway if it is a signing problem he should recieve an error 21 when he tries to boot the game.

I see that i am doing something wrong in nero by what your saying. I go to the express type of setting and pull the dropdown list for dvd and click which file then click burn non multi session and finalize.

What method is proven in nero might I ask?

Thank you

that is not the correct way. You burn thr image simply as a file in that manner. You should not use nero expres but nurning rom. After the first window where you select "NEW" go to the top to "RECORDER" in that drop down menu select "BURN IMAGE" now select the correct file and in the new window set your burn speed and select finalize dvd. that's it.

Earlier (krayzie) you said that craxtion was not the best of making the xiso's.

What program do you suggest for a good xiso?

Thank you for your info and time.

I personally like to use qwix to create/extract/transfer xiso'z. They are proven to make one of (if not) the best xiso's.
