Didn't you think it would be odd to try to boot a hd with nothing on it? well your only option for now is to hotswap or install a chip.

If your xbox isn't chipped or tsopped it will NOT play ANY burned media on bootup.

awhah...i would but there game save hack isn't even there anymore..its gone..is it possible to load up run linux through the memory card instead of the hard drive

No, that's not possible. Your only two options are to hotswap or to chip the xbox.

i think there might be some games that you can transfer stuff from the memory card to the hardrive to get the gamesave back on the xbox; i think in phantasy star you can read from the mem card, but idunno if it could work to transfer from you mem card
